Job Embedded Activity

Assignment Objectives:

• Review Marzano’s effective research- based instructional strategies and identify those that are strengths within your instruction.
• Reflect and identify some areas of development within your teaching to more fully implement strategies that may need additional integration within your instruction. If your current educational role supports students outside of the classroom, identify how you could share these strategies with colleagues to promote student achievement and collaboration.

Written Response
30 points Rubric (23 points required for passing grade)

Write a two page response that meets the following criteria:

• After reviewing Marzano’s effective research-based instructional strategies, comment on those that you currently implement well within your instruction. Please be sure to reference specific examples of how you do so. If your current educational role supports students outside of the classroom, identify how you could collaborate with other educators to share and integrate these strategies.
• Identify the strategies that you may need to integrate more fully into your teaching. Conference with a colleague about drafting a plan to do so in an upcoming lesson. If you support students outside of the classroom, explain the benefits of how these strategies promote learning.
• After teaching the lesson with the newly integrated instructional strategies, reflect on how their existence within the lesson enhanced your students’ understanding of the content and skills you taught. **If you are not currently teaching, predict how these strategies will enhance your lesson and your future students' understanding of the content and skills you will teach. Or, if you support students outside of the classroom, articulate how instruction will be enhanced upon implementation.

Your reflection must be at least two double-spaced pages in length.
