Difficulties are inherent in any confrontation. Knowing what difficulties may come up allows you to prepare for them.
Potential Difficulty: It is often very difficult for the teacher (confronter) to be clear. Reason: The confronter is under stress and may not be clear-headed. |
Potential Difficulty: The student (receiver) may not understand what the teacher means. Reason: The student being confronted has trouble hearing clearly when under stress. |
Potential Difficulty: The student and teacher are defensive. Reason: Defensiveness is natural. It is a common and universal human reaction to confrontation. |
