Module 7: Teaching Self-Responsible Behaviors - The 4-E Model
In the previous modules, you’ve explored the use of Personal Power techniques and reviewed Mental Models needed to be self-responsible. In this module, you will review techniques in the 4-E Model that teach self-responsible behaviors in four phases or steps. The Four E’s include steps to Educate, Experience, Examine and Evaluate and Enforce the Consequences.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of five specific strategies associated with the Educate step of the 4-E model: Direct Teaching, Build a T Chart, Red Light/Green Light, Curriculum/Stories, Modeling) in his/her own classroom.
- Visualize and explain how you will allow your students to experience and apply a self-responsible behavior.
- Describe how you would teach students how to examine and evaluate their self-responsible behavior.
- Determine a course of action for providing consequences for students in a fictional scenario.
