Module 5: Problem Return Technique and Solution Seeking
Sometimes small strategies for teaching self-responsibility may not work. In this module you will review two strategies, "Problem Return Technique" and "Solution Seeking," that can be used to address self-responsibility issues that cannot be resolved with the first nine Personal Power Strategies.
The Problem Return technique follows eight steps that walk through problem solving or addressing students’ lack of self-responsibility. The Solution-Seeking Process allows students to engage in a “solution-seeking” track. At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Develop a plan for using the Problem Return Technique to solve a student or students’ self-responsibility issue.
- Apply the Solution Seeking Process to a student’s (students’) case in your own classroom.
