Module 4: Mind Skils
For students learning that they can make choices regarding their behavior and what they can take responsibility for are the first steps of mastering Self-Responsible behavior. Sometimes it takes the “Power of the Mind” to cement our ideas of and commitment to Self-Responsibility. In this module you will learn how to use four types of Personal Power “Mind Skills” to help your students internalize Self-Responsibility concepts and values. The Personal Power strategy, Mind Skills, is introduced as a way to help students low in personal power to use their minds to affect the events and circumstances of their lives.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Plan and implement the effectiveness of 11 “Mind Skills” to help students take control of their own lives (Mind Skills).
- Discuss and reflect the importance of an application of "Character Education" in schools.
- Develop a characterization or embodiment of “Personal Power” qualities.
