Module 1: Fundamentals of Responsible Behavior
Students in today’s world require a growing sense of self-responsibility to function and cope in a fast changing world. This module introduces the need for teaching Self- Responsible behaviors in the classroom. This module introduces to the four major Self-Responsibility “Strategy Families”: Personal Power, Mental Models, The 4-E Module, & Positive Student Confrontation. This course content covers these four strategies in detail in the following seven modules.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Relate the meaning of Self-Responsibility and explain its value in managing students in your own classroom.
- Describe the nature of personal power and how it relates to a student's ability to be responsible and self-directed.
- Discuss and explain the concept of mental models and how they relate to a student's ability to be self-responsible and self-directed.
- Complete brief research and exploration on the topic of "Self-Responsibility," "Personal Power," and student success.
