Module 3: Attributes and Self-Responsible Language

Sometimes it is difficult for us to take responsibility unless we can see what we can control. This is the same for students, if they can understand what they can do or affect they can learn what the can be responsible for.  In this module, you will review the Personal Power Strategy of “Attribute Awareness.”  The suggestions in this strategy will help your students learn how to determine what they can attribute their “successes” to and build a positive understanding of how they can achieve success in many endeavors.

Another essential part of learning self-responsible behaviors is learning how to use “Self-Responsible” language. One of the most common unself-responsible phrases is "I can't." This module presents a Personal Power strategy, Self-Responsible Language, to help your students increase their personal power and acceptance of responsibility using words and phrases that identify themselves as a responsible party for their actions.
