Summative Assessments
Assignment Objective:
- Create a summative assessment (end of unit lesson or end of lesson assessment) in your area of expertise that ensures your students are prepared to advance to the next area of instruction.
Written Response
20 points Rubric (15 points required for passing grade)
Create a summative assessment (end of unit lesson or end of lesson assessment) to include in an upcoming lesson plan you are planning on teaching. If you are not currently teaching, create a summative assessment that you can use in your future instruction. If your educational role involves supporting students outside of the classroom, create a summative assessment that you can share with another teacher to support their instruction.
- Using the SAS Portal, ensure that your assessment fully aligns with the Pennsylvania Academic Standards, as well as your learning objectives.
- In a two-page written response, explain how your assessment measures students' comprehension of the material covered.
- Describe how the standards help you ensure that your assessment is fair, and accurately measures student comprehension.
Please be sure to write a two-page, double-spaced response. If you are typing your response directly in the Assessments Tool, include at least five developed paragraphs.
