Benchmark Assessments
Benchmark Assessments assist both the teacher and the students in measuring the progress in reaching grade level standards.
Benchmark Assessments that are used in Pennsylvania include:
These assessments contain similar questions to the PSSA and other state exams, which are aligned with the PA Academic Standards, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Assessing to Learn: PA Benchmark Initiative. Benchmark assessments are used to measure achievement of critical grade level concepts and may be periodically administered during the year to provide a snapshot on how well students will perform on the state exams.
