Pen & PaperLearning Activity 3-B-1

Analyze K-U-Dos

[Offline. No post required.]

  1. Read “Combining Standards and Major Assessment K-U-Dos” and “Standards-Based Research References” located the Key Information.

  2. As a way to more fully understand this information, analyze either a current or upcoming unit for important K-U-Dos. You may want to ask yourself:

    • Are the curriculum objectives aligned with state standards?

    • Do the activities provide skills that are needed or deepen the understanding of the standards that have to be met?

    • What kind of activity would help you pre-assess your students for the K-U-Do?

  3. This is for your own information and reflection. No post is necessary.

Scenario Suggestions

[Post to Forums]

  1. Read “Scenarios” in Key Information for an example of how one teacher used the model. Read the “Example Scenario” and “Analysis” to note how well the teacher differentiated her unit and the what ways she could have improved her differentiation.

  2. Read the “Sample Scenarios” and choose two of them to  analyze by responding to the following questions:

    • What has the teacher done well to differentiate?

    • What could the teacher have done to improve the lesson or unit?

  3. Post your analyses of two of the scenarios to Forums 3-B-2: Scenario Suggestions.   Read others’ posts. A reply is optional.
