- Listen for opportunities to use Needs/Benefit Statements, Supporting Statements, and Empathy Statements this week, both face-to-face and online. Use them with each other in this class, at your workplace, or with friends and family.
- Using specific instances and examples, write a reflection and answer the following questions:
- How did your interactions change when using the supporting statement? What kind of response did you receive? How was it the same or different when using the skill online or face-to-face?
- How did your Needs/Benefit statements work? Were you more positive this week?
- How did you show understanding with an Empathy Statement?
- How comfortable are you with these skills? Which one(s) comes more (or less) naturally?
- Does it feel more comfortable to use these skills online or face-to-face?
