Happy couple at computerPosting Suggestions

Refer to Learning Activity Directions

The comments under each forum title in the Class Discussions area are meant only to give you a brief prompt and do not include specific requirements of the posting. Refer to each Learning Activity for specific directions concerning a forum posting. Pay special attention about making replies to class members' postings — some forum postings require a reply, while others do not.

Save Your Work

It is always a good idea to create and save any assignments and long forum posts in your word processing program before attempting to post or submit them online. Creating and saving documents in a word processing program has several advantages:

Note: It is especially important to save your work from Module One, such as your introduction and learning style results, because every PLS online course begins with the same Module One. If your work is saved, you may easily resubmit it, rather than recreating the same documents for another class.

Directions for Posting to Class Discussions

There are two places you can go to for specific directions about how to post to Class Discussions: the (1) Support tab at the top of your screen and (2) Getting Started in the navigation text at the left of your screen.

(1) Support Tab
Clicking on the Support tab links you to a special website that provides help for using Blackboard. This support page is available to you any time you need more information or help to complete a task in Blackboard. Step by step directions are available for almost any task. Animated tutorials are available if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser.

  1. From the first Support page, select Animated Tutorials.
  2. Under Students, click more.
  3. Select Posting to a Discussion Board in Blackboard 6.

(2) Getting Started
As you discovered in Topic A, Getting Started covers "Blackboard How Tos," including information about "Posting to Class Discussions." A printable version of Getting Started is available in Resources. You may want to print this document for handy reference throughout the course.
