Discussion Forums
Included in the Class Discussions area are many forums. Each forum focuses on a different discussion topic. Throughout the course, forums are lettered and numbered; for example, 1-B-1: Introductions is the first learning activity for Topic B.
When a course begins, all forums are listed in the order in which they appear in the course. Once a module is completed, the forums for that module will be moved to the bottom of the list, thus allowing the current module's forums to be available at the top of your screen. However, even if a forum is moved, you may go back to it at any time.
Within the Class Discussions are three general discussion forums:
- The Facilitator Forum is a place where your facilitator posts comments about the upcoming week's topic and provides helpful tips. Check this forum often, especially at the beginning of each week.
- The Questions forum is a place where you can post a question or a comment — think of it like you're raising your hand in class. Chances are if you have a question, at least one other person has the same one.
- The Break Room is a place for you to just hang out and chat about anything and everything. When you want to talk about something that isn’t specifically course-related, this is the to place go. Please visit the Break Room often throughout the course to have casual conversations with classmates.
Note: The Class Discussions area may also be referred to as the Discussion Board.
