Key InfoPreparing Graphics and Visuals for Your Classroom

Throughout this course you will be encouraged to develop your own visual examples on PowerPoint slides using simple graphics. You will also be encouraged to use examples of visuals, graphics or animations that illustrate concepts that you find on the web.

In this course, you will be provided with manipulative templates and instructions that will help make reproduction of images and symbols easier. Please note, that you are not restricted to using the manipulative templates provided. If you would like to create your own graphics, feel free to do so. It is; however, recommended that you keep the graphics as simple as possible.

Some of the visual manipulative exercises will encourage and challenge you to use your own creativity and inventiveness to develop illustrations and demonstrations that help bring the meaning of math concepts to your students. You can model these image creation skill and encourage your students to apply them to their own explorations and explanations of Math.

If you are not familiar with using the drawing/visual tools in PowerPoint, you can also view and use demonstrations on basic skills:

Other Options for Creating Visual Images:

For this class you are encouraged to use PowerPoint to develop simple images using the simple graphics/drawing tools. However, you may wish to create your own images or even use images you find online. Please note, permissions for using graphics images you find on the web.
