5-A-2 Aaron's Submission
One all encompassing concept that came form the reading is that most students are more engaged and motivated by activities and tasks in which they have had some level of choice. It is the teacher’s responsibility to create such an environment for his/her students. It is also up to the teacher to collaborate with all of the necessary stakeholders remembering that “working together, the opportunities for successful learning increase” (Key Information p2). We do have to be aware, however, that different students are used to and work best with different level of responsibility for their work (Burger, 1992). Those who desire higher levels of autonomy and choice generally make better decisions when it comes to their learning, while those who would choose to have less control need to be nudged in the self-directed direction without pushing too hard as to frustrate.
Grading Aaron's Submission with the Rubric:

The total score for this work would range from 20-25, between Proficient and Exemplary.
