Read “S-17: Learning Contracts,” “S-18: I-Search,” and “S-19: Curriculum Compacting” in the DI Strategies Tool Basket. |

Complete ONE of the following options:
| Option One |
- Create a Learning Contract to meet the needs of a student in your class. If you’re not currently teaching, you may use a student you’ve had in the past.
- Include the K-U-Dos that the Learning Contract will address.
- Describe at least three activities to be included in the Learning Contract.
- Explain your rationale for using the contract and the anticipated student response.

| Option Two |
- Develop a Curriculum Compacting lesson for one of your high-ability students. If you’re not currently teaching, you may use a student you’ve had in the past.
- Explain how you will pre-assess the student’s mastery of the K-U-Dos that will be compacted.
- List the alternative activities the student will complete. This may take the form of an I-Search or a Learning Contract.
- Describe the anticipated student response.
