Strategies with Embedded Roles
Two strategies that support student self-directedness are the Game of Self-Direction and RAFT.
Both of these strategies may be applied to any content area and rely on students playing specific roles. The Game of Self-Direction is a small-group activity, while the RAFT strategy may be used by individual students in a whole-class or small-group setting.
