Vision Board

When we visualize our dreams, we can set into motion their existence. Vision boards are used to create a visual representation of what can be: our dream world, our dream schools.

Find a minimum of three images (online or your own) and a variety of words, quotes, phrases, etc. that represent the type of world or type of schools that Adrienne Rich describes in her poem “Dreams before Waking”. Be sure to save any images you want to use on your computer. In a word processing document, add your media to create a vision board that represents the type of classroom you would like to create for your students.

When finished, attach your vision board to a post in the Forum. Provide feedback to one of your classmates.

2. Now rank those five issues in order of importance to you.
3. Fill out this chart to identify your awareness/knowledge, skills/ actions for each of those issues.
4. Share the chart and your reactions to this activity on the Forum. Do your actions match how you ranked the importance of these issues? What else can you do to be an ally for your students?
