Now that you have basic information about the 5Cs and Compelling Whys, you will now get a brief overview of how your brain takes in information (KTAV).

All information that you receive comes through one of your six senses by the words you say, the way you present information, how you organize activities, and how you orchestrate events in your classrooms. This is called Multisensory Teaching.

Multisensory teaching means you rotate your presentation and activities through the senses. In essence, the more multisensory a presentation, the better the chance is for retention.

The senses that will be referred to in this course are the kinesthetic, tactual, auditory, and visual (KTAV) senses. Please note that that we will not go into detail on two senses, gustatory or olfactory senses.

Though everyone may receive the same input, each person has different abilities and preferences for taking the information that impacts them on a daily basis. In this course, you will identify your own sensory preferences and learn techniques for making your teaching multisensory, thus meeting all students' sensory learning needs and preferences.
