brainThe Brain's Pattern for Learning (5Cs)

Before you learn how your brain takes in information (KTAV), how your brain organizes and perceives information (GASC), and how you express yourself through your temperament styles (TS), you will learn about the process the brain uses to create meaning so that the information that you take in is internalized and integrated into your long-term memory (5Cs).

You have a built-in process or natural pattern in your brain for learning new information: the 5Cs. Your brain takes new information and processes it to see how it is the same or different from what you already know. We call this process Compare and Contrast. Your brain then begins to Conceptualize, or label, the new information. After you practice Conceptualizing and using the new information, you begin to more fully understand, or Comprehend, the information. Once you master and understand the information, you can Combine it with other knowledge to use the information in new and unique ways.

Everyone uses the 5Cs process to learn anything. The 5Cs are the teaching processes which follow the natural learning process to develop concept mastery.
