Solution Seeking - Part I

Note: This activity is due as a forum post during Module 5. It is posted in the Forums and graded as an Assignment.
- Read all of the Solution Seeking content provided in Key Information for Topic C.
- As you read, think about the following questions:
- What real-life problems occur in your classroom?
- What issues reoccur so often that you would like to eliminate them forever?
- What problems are begging to be solved?
- What irritations, frustrations, or concerns would you be willing to submit to the Solution Seeking Process?
- List five regularly occurring classroom problems that you would be willing to submit to the Solution Seeking Process. (If you’re not currently in a classroom, apply the process to another group situation.)
- Respond to the following:
- Choose one of the five problems to address with your students using the Solution Seeking Process. It should be a problem that is important to you and also one that is the least emotionally charged — one that you could address with your students without generating a lot of strong emotions. Briefly explain the problem.
- Specify a date and time within the next two weeks to hold your first Solution Seeking Process class meeting.
- Complete the statement: “I expect the Solution Seeking Process to….”
- Post your responses to Forums 5-C-1: Solution Seeking Process: Part One.
- Read others’ postings and reply to at least one person.

- You have two weeks to implement the Solution Seeking Process to address the problem you identified in Part One (5-C-1).
- Use the Solution Seeking Process Report to describe how you used each of the steps and the results of using the process.
- You will turn in your work in Module 6 under "6-A-1: Solution Seeking Packet."
