The Power of Response-Ability

One way to help students see options is to teach a strategy called the STAR Technique. STAR is an acronym for Stop, Think, Act, and Review.

As students Stop and Think about the Action to take, they need to consider the alternatives. Oftentimes, this is the step that students with low Personal Power miss. After they Act, students Review the consequences of their actions and decide if the action they took worked for them.

Note: The STAR Technique has nothing to do with the acronym for the course; it is a coincidence that it is also called STAR.
