Module 9: Evaluating the Course
In this module, you enter into the final phase of the instructional design cycle: evaluation. First, you will discover the differences and similarities between formative and summative evaluations. Then you will explore how to assess student, instructor, and course performance. Finally, you will put everything that you have learned together into a project plan for your online course.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Describe the major components of the instructional design process
- Differentiate between formative and summative evaluations.
- Identify elements of an online course to be evaluated formatively and summatively.
- Reflect continuously on personal expertise, using the knowledge and skills associated with this course, and use these insights actively as the basis for ongoing professional growth.
- Work collaboratively to share knowledge, skills, and experiences; refine understanding of content; give and receive feedback; and improve expertise.
