2. Think about how you would answer these questions:

  • How can rigor and relevance impact student engagement and learning?
  • How can piquing student interest, building relationships, and promoting meaningful learning spark student engagement?
  • How can increased student involvement lead to deeper student understanding?

3. Take the Preassessment.

Utilizing instructional strategies that pique student interests and promote meaningful classroom engagement will encourage deeper student learning. Consider your current classroom practices and experiences that promote student engagement. Compose a two paragraph response (five to seven sentences each).

  • In the first paragraph, describe three strategies explaining how you spark student engagement in your class.
  • In the second paragraph, provide an example of how you maintain student participation for each of these strategies.

Provide your answers in the Assessments Tab. (Preassessment 1.1)
