Four young men working with laptopsScenarios

Your small group will be assigned a scenario from those below for Activity 4-C-1. For each scenario, consider the following questions:

  1. What would you do?
  2. What postings would you make?
  3. Where would you make the postings?
  4. What would you do if, despite your previous actions, the student persisted?

Scenario A:

There is small group work due on Monday. Maria's group is concerned because it is now Saturday morning and they have not heard from her. They want to complete their activity, but Maria has not responded to their emails and messages.

Scenario B:

One of your students, Claudia, insults one of her group members, Jack, during a small group discussion.

Scenario C:

Hannah has posted to every discussion forum, but the responses are curt and there is little depth to the posts. You notice that posts are generally submitted close to midnight on the day work is due.

Scenario D:

One of your students, Sumeet, is a very fast typist. When he participates in chats, he can often send two or three messages in the time it takes others to send one. You notice that he has more than twice as many posts in his last small group chat as any other member of the group.
