Module 8: Social Learning
In this module, you will consider three areas of technology that can be used to address the Net-Generation's learning needs. You'll evaluate their use in your classroom to meet the needs of your learners.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Adapt a current unit plan to address the Net-Generation's learning needs.
- Build a classroom website, using wiki technology, to relate information to students, parents, and peers.
- Interpret how various technologies can be used in the classroom to facilitate learning.
- Develop learning activities related to academic content and standards that incorporate various technologies.
- Analyze the benefits of student-created content.
- Discuss and evaluate some of the newer learning technologies that may soon be entering into classroom environments.
- Create nontechnical activities that leverage the Net-Generation's general learning characteristics.
- Generalize course content to reflect how the multicultural, special-needs and gifted, and other diverse populations within classrooms have their needs met by the application of the skills, strategies, and knowledge gained in this course.
- Reflect continuously on personal expertise, using the knowledge and skills associated with this course, and use these insights actively as the basis for ongoing professional growth.
- Work collaboratively to share knowledge, skills, and experiences; refine understanding of content; give and receive feedback; and improve expertise.
