Examine & Evaluate

Assignment - 30 points

Assignment Rubric

Review the "Examine/Evaluate Situations" in the interactivity.

Choose from among the different types of Examine/Evaluate questions shown in the examples and write three for each of the situations below. Use different types of examples (forced choice, continuum, open ended questions, etc.) for each situation, in order to practice various ways of encouraging your students to examine and evaluate.

Situation A
You taught and assigned the skill “Getting Started Quickly” using the Direct Teaching technique. Now work time is over, and you want to help students take a serious look at how they did on that issue.

Situation B
You used a T-chart to teach students the skill “Sharing Materials.” You then provided an experience in which they could practice the skill. The activity has just ended, and you want students to take a look at how well they did sharing materials.

Situation C
A major distraction just occurred in your classroom. You believe it provides a wonderful opportunity to help students look at how they handled the skill “Ignoring Distractions,” which you taught several weeks ago.
