  1. Listen to yourself. What self-responsible words and phrases do you regularly use? What unself-responsible language do you use? Do you say “I can’t” about anything in your life?

  2. Read “Essay: A Perspective on “I Can’t’” in the Key Information in Topic B.

  3. What are your reactions to the essay and/or the quotes included in the essay?

  4. Post your reflections to your  Blog. Include the assignment number 3-C-1  in your post title.

  5. Read others’ blog postings. A reply is optional.

  1. Look through a newspaper, magazine, or a few greeting cards (especially belated birthday cards). Notice the self- and unself-responsible language that is used. Share a few of these words or phrases with your facilitator, labeling them as self-responsible or unself-responsible. The facilitator will post a compiled list in the Facilitator Blog.
  2. Find a segment in the book Teacher Talk that is especially meaningful to you.
  3. Summarize the passage and explain why it has significance for you.
  4. Let your facilitator know how you’re doing in the course. Comment on the activities and your understanding of the Personal Power strategies.
