Module 3: Attributes & Self-Responsible Language

In this module you’ll report the results of implementing these strategies, and you’ll add two more Personal Power strategies to your repertoire:

• PP Strategy Seven: Attribute Awareness activities that recognize cause and effect
• PP Strategy Eight: I Can't Antidotes

These strategies focus on building students' awareness of their own power and how to use self-responsible language to empower themselves and their choices.

In this module you will practice applying the Attribute Awareness Strategy and I Can't Antidotes strategies. You will also get the opportunity to examine the power of using and teaching Self-Responsible Language with and to your students.

Module Three Objectives

At the completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Identify and explain specific Power Strategies - instructional strategies designed to help students grow in personal power - and how they can be used in the classroom.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of selected Power Strategies in your classroom, including but not limited to strategies for helping students see and feel the role they play in creating their own experiences, Attribute Awareness.
