Understanding New Media
In this module, you will investigate the social, cultural and educational implications of new information and telecommunications technologies. You will also begin to explore the role of games as a medium for learning and communication of ideas.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- define video games as used by today’s youth (from hereafter, we will use video games to refer to both computer and video games)
- compare and contrast recreational video games, educational games, and other learning systems
- explain the learning principles embodied in contemporary video games
