Overview
Narrative (story) text is usually easier for students to understand than expository text. Therefore, comprehension strategies are usually best taught with narrative text first. Once students are comfortably using comprehension strategies, you can demonstrate how those strategies apply to expository text. In this topic, we investigate the elements of narrative text and how those elements enhance comprehension.
