Learning Activity 3-C-1
Before Reading Application
[Assignments]
30 points
RubricNOTE: Throughout this course you will be creating pieces of a Final Project through Application activities. At the end of the course, you will incorporate feedback and new ideas as well as synthesize course information into a complete lesson plan.
Choose a unit of study or lesson plan that you use in your classroom*. Apply what you have learned from Topic B about Before Reading strategies to that unit of study or lesson plan.
In a word processing document, you will explain how:
- background information will be called up
- students will be provided with necessary background information, if needed
- students will learn vocabulary words
- the purpose for reading will be set
Include who the strategy is aimed at (ELL, minimal reading ability or other special population), the Multiple Intelligences that it supports, and the Intelligent Behaviors that you are asking the students to exhibit.
Post your word processing document as an attachment to Assignments Activity 3-C-1: Before Reading Application.
*If you do not have a unit of study or lesson plan, you may use the resources from nylearns.org.
