Analyzing & Using Sheet Music
When evaluating sheet music, special attention needs to be given to the artwork, color, symbols, and lyrics. Analyze the music itself if you and your students have the skills. This is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the music department. You may even be able to involve the band, choir, or orchestra. Some communities have historical music groups such as Civil War Bands or barbershop quartets who could visit your class and explain more about the music of the time.
