Overview
A formative assessment is continuous as students form new skills and learning strategies. This type of assessment can be fairly informal; i.e., observations, journals, discussions. Information gathered during formative assessments is useful to:
- you as you plan for continued learning.
- students as they strive to learn more.
- parents as they evaluate their child's progress over time.
- administrators as they evaluate student learning and teaching effectiveness.
