Introduction to Primary Sources
This module will introduce primary and secondary sources, provide examples of each, discuss why educators should use primary sources and the difference between public domain and copyrighted items. We will also discuss Fair Use as it applies to the classroom.
At the completion of this Module, you will be able to:
- Differentiate between primary and secondary sources.
- Identify and navigate online resources to find primary sources.
- Evaluate the benefits of using primary sources in the classroom.
- Outline the copyright and fair use guidelines that govern the use of primary sources in the classroom.
