Part A:

Assess your school’s current family involvement plan using the Family Involvement Plan form. Be sure to save the Word doc to your computer when you have finished filling out the Family Involvement Plan.

• What partnership actions are currently being used at your school?
• Which families are you currently reaching?
• Which are the hard to reach families? Why?
• What will you do to improve communications and partnerships with these families? Please be very specific. For example, If you are going make a better effort to contact families, state the methods for contact (newsletter, Skype, home visit, phone calls, etc.).

Part B:

Based on your answers to the above questions, develop a plan for increasing partnerships with families at your school. Use the chart to identify actions steps that fit within Epstein's 6 Types of Family Involvement.
