1-B: Self-Responsibility
Self-responsibility is a term used in this course because it emphasizes each student’s individual responsibility. Self-responsibility means that students choose specific responsible behaviors for themselves. These are the behaviors you want to teach, encourage, and support.
The opposite of self-responsible is unself-responsible.
Rather than using the word “irresponsible,” this course emphasizes a student’s neglect of personal responsibility by referring to the opposite of self-responsibility as “unself-responsibility.”
